Hi there,

We are running on the latest release of ProIV (8.3.16.17). Last week we had a demo from Andrew Turner (ProIV UK) on the change management system and a third party product he uses called GitHub. GitHub is used in conjunction with JASON ProIV function exports (XML) to manage and document changes to a function. We are looking at starting to use GitHub but first want to see what other users may be using. Can anyone who is using a change management solution like GitHub please let me know what they are using and why they like using it. Thank you in advance.

Regards

Ross

Used it at my previous company where they were converting the Pro4 system to C#. Once you understand Branches, its a great tool, especially if you have many developers that hit the same programs/set of code

I'm also looking to integrate with GitHub at my current company, so interested to see how it was done

Hi Neil,

Well GitHub definitely works with ProIV 8.3. The one thing we didn't like about GitHub was that we couldn't tell who made the changes. Maybe there is a way but we missed it in the demo. As a group we have decided to see what else is out there before we commit to a solution. If we go with GitHub we will get Andrew Turner involved in the setup as he already had it setup for the demo. I will keep you posted as to what we choose.

Regards

Ross
